Vision for Ministry

For better or for worse, our modern world has become a kind of intellectual market-place in which we find ourselves surrounded by a vast array of competing philosophies and religions, all clamoring for our attention--and a sale.

It can get confusing. Some of us, seeing truth in them all, turn to pantheism, mysticism, or even the occult. Others, seeing truth in none, turn to skepticism, relativism, or even despair. Many don't know where to turn.

But different as we may be, all are alike in one important respect: We hunger.

Christians offer a thought-provoking reason why: God has created our minds to marvel at His truth, and our hearts to enjoy intimate spiritual communion with Himself and His Son. The Bible calls this true food. The mission of every disciple of Christ is to partake of it, delight in it, grow by it--and help others do the same.

Here at CLR we have gladly accepted that mission, seeking to do our part in two fundamental ways.

First, we offer books and seminars designed to explore the biblical worldview.

A worldview may be defined as a set of answers to the ultimate questions of life, answers that enable us to catch a glimpse of reality as a whole. The Bible gives us just such a worldview, and what a worldview it is! There we find an all-encompassing vision of the origin, purpose, structure, history, and destiny of the universe, life, and man; a vision whose living and burning center is the sovereign, glorious, triune Creator, Judge, and Redeemer of all.

If indeed the Bible is His Word, then mankind was created for this vision, and only in beholding it will he find true satisfaction for the deep and manifold longings of his soul.

Moreover, once he does behold it, he will then have in his possession the God-given standard by which to measure the strengths and weaknesses of all other worldviews, and to dialog intelligently with those who hold them. A precious inheritance indeed!

Secondly, we offer books and seminars that confirm the truth of the biblical worldview.

This theological discipline is called "apologetics," and apologetics is definitely God's idea. He knows that seekers and believers alike need to be sure that what they believe is really true. Accordingly, he has supplied a compelling body of evidence to serve not only as the objective basis for a reasonable faith, but also as a source of skill and confidence in sharing it. Here at CLR we are eager to discuss these fascinating evidences, especially with the young and the young in the Lord.

In order to get a feel for how we pursue these two great goals, please take a few moments to browse the nooks and crannies of the CLR website. We hope you will enjoy these pages as much as we have enjoyed preparing them for you.
